FOUR YEARS AGO, I DID MY FRIST GARDEN PAINTING IN NORTHERN MICHIGAN, MEMORIALIZING A FRIEND’S GARDEN. A MOMENT IN TIME.

DECISIONS AND DEPOSITS

Once you've decided on your garden commission, and picked out the size and materials for your piece (wood panel, canvas or linen), a deposit of half of the painting price is payed to secure your spot. Some pricing for common sizing is given below. I start painting commissions in September and can take on one painting per month through February for a total of 6 commissions per year. We decide on the available time slot ahead of time.

Photographing your gARDEN

During peak summer or late summer/fall depending on the preferred look, I come to your garden and take pictures, study compositions and make some preliminary painting studies. You can weigh in on color preferences and composition during a short consultation before and following these studies. It may also be helpful for you to look at my previous work and point out any paintings and color stories that resonate with you.

Final Painting

Before starting, colors and composition are in place from the previous meeting and I check in periodically with updates on how it’s going. I do my best to accommodate desires that were communicated and also paint within my style. I am not replicating photos but taking the information and turning it into a feeling.
