The images I’ve been drawn to have been glowing orbs of light in various forms - sun, moon, stars, lighting bugs or even glowing flowers. I've been thinking of the way we see or feel light from our environment, from others, from within. Ideas about the circular nature of life coming to the forefront - beginnings and endings, inhale and exhale, sunrise and sunset. This August full moon is called the Sturgeon Moon, known for strength and resilience and is also our first super moon of the year (the moon’s closest approach to earth in its elliptical orbit, making the moon look larger and brighter). August brings us these last full summer days and possibilities to bask in all of these bright lights.
Oil on linen or canvas - 5x7 inches. Included are four small brass nails that are intended to nail the piece directly into the wall.
